- A few things to report: First, I will be joining
the faculty at Loyola University in Chicago this coming fall. It's
an extremely exciting opportunity to help develop a new music program
at a great university and I can't wait to get started. My appointment
has just been formally announced, but I am sure I will have more information
about the many things we plan to do there as things progress... The
second thing is we have just launched a brand new site for my record
label, Nineteen-Eight
Records. The site is amazing and includes digital downloads, score
downloads, and lesson downloads coming soon. Also, the artist roster
will be growing fast. Stop by and check it out. I am very pleased
with how it turned out.

- Wanted to let you know that on February 24th
I will bringing a trio to Walsh College in Ohio. This is a new project
and I am very excited about getting it started there. Also, I will
be playing The Goldberg variations LIVE on the radio in Chicago on
March 28th on WFMT. In other news, we hope to have a final plan for
the new Nineteen-Eight Records website this week. This is going to
enable us to do many new and exciting things and offer digital downloads,
sheet music, video downloads, etc. I can't wait! Finally I wanted
to tell you that next season is already shaping up to be very nice.
It looks like I will be returning to some favorite places - kicking
off the season with The Utica Symphony with an all Gershwin program,
returning to perform Prokofiev #3 with The Illinois Philharmonic and
much more.

- Happy New year everyone! I wanted to give
you all an early heads up on a masterclass I will be doing on March
8th before my concert with Howard Levy at Pianoforte Chicago (Fine
Arts building). This class will be on rhythmic development and independence
of the hands as it specifically relates to solo improvisatory playing.
Everyone is welcome and a few students will be able to play for me
as well. We will be discussing how to better accompany yourself when
you don't have a bass player and/or drummer. We will discuss stride
piano playing, chordal accompaniment, ostinato patterns and more.
The last few months have found me working more diligently than ever
on rhythmic concepts so I look forward to sharing this with you as
well. I am considering writing a book of some sort on this material
but in the meantime I think many of you will find this class very
interesting and valuable.... Also, my return to N. Canton Ohio will
unfortunately not be with Howard Levy as originally planned but either
solo or with a trio I think. This concert is at the end of February
and I will have more details on what project I am bringing as we get
closer.

- I am back home after a crazy month on the
road. I only played 5 concerts total but the the programs were different
for each of them so it was quite challenging. I am now hard at work
rehearsing and preparing some of my music for a new recording and
also planning on another Molinaro-Levy disc. I will have some more
news on this as well as my growing record label Nineteen-Eight
Records in January. This summer we released the debut disc from
RUDDER which last week went to No. 1 on the jambands.com radio chart
and this week comes Chris Tarry. The new year will bring us a new
disc from Will Vinson and my above mentioned CD's as well. We will
also soon have a new and improved store to feature digital downloads
and more. And there are several other things in the works tied to
the label too - it's gonna be good.

- Some performances coming up!! I will be back
in Europe in a few weeks for four completely different concerts. First
I will return to Eberback, Germany where I have played the last two
years to present both a classical recital and a jazz solo recital
on consecutive nights. The first will feature Bach's Goldberg Variations
and the second many new compositions of mine. A few days later I will
be performing with Howard Levy (The Molinaro-Levy Project) in Passau,
Germany and then in Linz, Austria to do a Gershwin solo concert on
November 2nd. Afterwards I head to NYC for a week before going out
to The Hamptons for a duo concert with Orion Weiss on November 10th.
This will be our first time playing together so it should be a great
time and nice to be back out on Long Island. Once I return to Chicago
I will be doing a masterclass at The Music Institute of Chicago on
November 17th.... In other news the instrumental jam band RUDDER is
on tour now and will visit Chicago on October 16th. This incredible
group of NYC musicians is on my label Nineteen-Eight Records and recently
debuted at #13 on the CMJ Radio Charts. The band is Keith Carlock,
Chris Cheek, Henry Hey and Tim Levebre. Check them out!

- Well the new site updates are coming along.
Soon the videos will be in flash which should make them easier to
navigate... On the concert front I am back in Oneonta, NY to play
with The Catskill Symphony this weekend for the 6th or 7th time!!
We will be doing The Ravel Concerto in G Major. Then back home on
the 12th to play BOTH The Ravel and Gerwhin Concerto in F with The
Illinois Philharmonic. I am really looking forward to both of these
concerts and hope to see you there

- We are currently giving the site a little
overhaul. Some things may not work yet, but it should be cool soon.
Thanks!

- Lot's of good stuff to report here. First
of all, my little European tour was fantastic and concluded with a
last minute solo concert at Alexanderplatz in Rome. The great Stefano
Di Battista joined me on a few tunes and it was a perfect ending to
a very succesful trip. A few days earlier I also recorded 3 tunes
for the television show, "Il Senso Della Vita." This is
a very popular show in Italy hosted by Paolo Bonolis and it should
air soon... In other news I have a new manager, Robert Rund. Robert
has been in the business for a long time as a manger at IMG and also
as the publisher of Musical America. He currently represents the jazz
pianist Fred Hersch among others so I am very excited about the future.
You can read the press
release that appeared on Billboard... I now have a myspace page
which is probably the best place to hear music. Check it out - www.myspace.com/anthonymolinaro...
I am currently writing and practicing like mad for new recording projects.
Howard Levy and I will finish up a new CD soon and I will also be
recording a solo disc which will feature a lot of my music.

in the artist search in the Itunes store.

- As you may have already seen on the homepage
I have a pair of very interesting performances with Howard Levy coming
up. On June 3rd we will be performing at Northeastern University in
Chicago. A few days before that on May 31st we will appear on
Chicago Tonight at 7:00 PM on WTTW Channel 11.... In other news,
my first European solo tour was a big success and I'll be back in
October. I will play a few concerts with Howard and a few solo ones
as well. Vienna and Zurich, two planned stops on the spring tour that
had to be postponed, will hopefully happen this next time around....
I will also soon have some more news on Nineteeen-Eight Records, my
label that will be growing.

- First of all I would like to thank everyone
in Grass Valley for making my visit with Howard Levy so fantastic.
It was great to play for a sold-out crowd and I am sorry to those
who didn't make it in. I hope we will be back soon!!! ... My solo
European tour is shaping up nicely and I have just posted the dates
on the site. I think one or two will still be added and they will
go up as soon as they are confirmed ... All three of my CD recordings
will be available for download on digital sites like apple's itunes
very soon. This is the first step in taking my label Nineteen-Eight
Records to another level.
